85°C Bakery & Café is known as a popular Taiwanese bakery and cafe selling a variety of coffee, tea, smoothies, bread, cakes, dessert and much more. Since 2004, they’ve opened 72 locations worldwide and is constantly busy with the demands of customers everyday.

This case study features my redesign of a mobile app for a real bakery. Please note that this project is a personal exploration of UX design principles, guided by the Google UX Design certificate program, and the bakery mentioned is used for illustrative purposes only.

The absence of a customer loyalty rewards mobile app, that is intuitive, prevents customers from efficiently ordering ahead of time, accumulating rewards, and staying informed about the latest deals and promotions.

They are a common regular to the bakery and love being one of the first few to try any seasonal pastries or drinks. Alicia wants to taste all the new things the bakery can offer without missing out on them.
Alicia is an event planner in Anaheim. They enjoy going to the bakery for many occasions, such as a quick bite to eat or to talk to their newest clients for her next event. While designing this app, I learned to just keep creating and there are no bad ideas. There will always be opportunities to improve. User research and usability studies also helped a lot in identifying pain points useful for designing forward.
